2016 Summer Program

Classical Ballet Theatre is offering two Summer Intensive five week sessions in 2016. The Beginning Summer Intensive requires a minimum of one year of classical ballet technique. The Intermediate/Advanced Summer Intensive requires a minimum of four years of classical ballet technique. There are also August Repertory Workshops for Pinky and Upper Division dancers.

For the younger dancers, we offer Storybook Ballet and Ballet 1/2 classes.

Our Summer Open Class is open for dancers of all ages.

The summer intensives offer a thorough grounding in classical ballet technique along with opportunities to explore other dance/movement arts such as jazz, modern, character dancing, hip hop, acting for dancers, yoga, improvisation and more. Registration for these sessions is due April 9, 2016.

Beginning Summer Intensive

Minimum 1 year of ballet technique

June 27 – July 29, 2016: (5) one week sessions
Monday – Friday: 9am-3:30pm
Fridays: demo for parents, 3:30pm- 4pm

Under the personal guidance of Executive Director Cynthia Donavin, Classical Ballet Theatre's excellent faculty and a number of outstanding summer guest faculty, dancers will experience a comprehensive program of classical and contemporary ballet, along with other dance disciplines. Classical Ballet Theatre's Summer Intensive is a 5-week program with a curriculum that encourages each student's artistic expression while emphasizing technique, strength, coordination and FUN! Each week will focus on different aspects (choreographer, composer, costumes, etc.) of the major classical ballets.

Placement: All students are required to have had at least one year of ballet technique.

Performances
An informal presentation highlighting the accomplishments of the students will be presented at the end of each week. Students will perform at 3:30pm on Fridays at the Classical Ballet Theatre studios.

$30 one time registration fee for families new to CBT
$500 / week
Aftercare til 5pm
$100/week
(Late arrivals for pick-up must pay additional $25 for every quarter hour of delay.)

Intermediate/Advanced Summer Intensive

June 27 – July 29, 2016: (5) one week sessions
Monday – Friday: 9am-4pm
Fridays: demo for parents, 4pm-4:30pm

Under the personal guidance of Executive Director Cynthia Donavin, Classical Ballet Theatre's excellent faculty and a number of outstanding summer guest faculty, dancers will experience a comprehensive program of classical and contemporary ballet, along with other dance disciplines and supplementary training. Classical Ballet Theatre's Summer Intensive is a 5-week program with a curriculum that encourages each student's artistic expression while emphasizing technique, strength, coordination and stamina.

Placement: All students are required to have had at least four years of ballet technique. Instructors will determine appropriate placement during the first day's technique class.

Performances
An informal presentation highlighting the accomplishments of the students will be presented at the end of each week. Students will perform at 4 pm on Fridays at the Classical Ballet Theatre studios.

Storybook Ballet

Ages: 3-5 years

Saturdays, Jun 25-Jul 30, 2016: (6) classes
9:30am-10:15am
Demo for parents: Jul 30, 9:30am-10:15am

A program designed with our youngest dancers, aged 3-5 years, in mind. This delightful 45 minutes explores children's classic stories. Each student learns basic dance movements, musical rhythm and how to express plot and emotion without using words.

Fees: $150 for 6 classes
One time $30 registration fee for families new to CBT

Ballet 1-2

Ages: 6-7 years

Monday-Thursday, 4pm-5pm

Fees: $100/week
One time $30 registration fee for families new to CBT

Ballet technique for dancers with less than two years of ballet training. This one hour class presents and reviews the basic elements of classical ballet technique

August Repertory Workshops

Classical Ballet Theatre's 2016 Repertory Workshop offers Pinky and Upper Division dancers a one-week intensive training experience that includes conditioning, ballet technique, pointe, and repertory.
