The Classical Ballet Theatre (CBT) is a not-for-profit 501(c) 3 performing arts organization that provides outstanding outreach, educational and performing opportunities in the art of classical dance to Northern Virginia and the surrounding communities.
Since its inception in 1991, CBT has continued to expand programming, educational components and outreach opportunities in order to continue to meet the educational needs of our most precious resource-our children.
In order to accommodate this growth and commitment to our community CBT must find a new home. CBT launched its Capital Campaign in March 2011, at our "Ballet and Bordeaux" fundraising event with the enthusiastic support of local patrons, corporations and Friends of the Classical Ballet Theatre.
Please help us continue our commitment to our community. Our fundraising goal is $300,000 in order to move into our new 8,000-square-foot home by September 2012.

Three-Pillar Mission of CBT
Since 1991, the three-pillar mission of CBT has been to provide community engagement and outreach programs, to educate, and to produce the high quality performances and dancers for which CBT is known.

CBT's extensive community outreach includes free performing arts enrichment programs for local schools, organizations, and under-served populations, as well as tribute performances that raise public awareness for worthy causes and honor members of our community. The new home for CBT will take the organization to the next exciting level of capability, visibility and accessibility.

The Classical Ballet Theatre Academy is the official ballet school of the Classical Ballet Theatre and provides the highest caliber of training and coaching opportunities to prepare young dancers for a career in the performing arts.
The Academy is divided into four areas of study: the Children's Division, the Lower Division, the Upper Division, and the Pre-Professional Program. The CBT Adult program provides training from the same faculty as the children's program, offering our adult students some of the best classical dance, stretch and core conditioning instruction in the area.
CBT creates opportunities to grow, explore and learn life lessons with exceptional professional faculty who are dedicated to passing the art form on to the next generation of emerging artists.

Performing opportunities are many and varied. CBT graduates are prepared to audition for professional companies, and to enter prestigious dance training centers or university dance departments. The lifelong values of discipline, hard work and perseverance are carried with our graduates as they move on to their adult lives.
